I had the great honor and privilege to spend this July in St. Louis, MO celebrating the marriage of John and Allie. I have known Allie for a long time, way before the talk of wedding gowns and engagement rings. Allie was a part of a small group that I helped to lead when I was a senior in high school and she was just entering into the wonderful years of middle school. When I got a phone call this spring with the request to photograph her wedding, I immediately said yes! (Along with all the emotions of feeling way too old and wondering how time goes by so quickly.)
The typical St. Louis summer day was a cool 97 degrees with about 110% humidity didn’t even come close to putting a damper on this beautiful celebration. The incredible Ladue estate hosted a scene right out of a book and the simple and gorgeous hues added so much grace and beauty to a perfect wedding. The day was wonderful! I would have to say that one of the best benefits to taking pictures at a wedding for a friend is the excuse to join the dancing once you are “off the clock”.
It truly was one of the highlights of my summer and I am so grateful to John & Allie for asking me to be a part of their wedding day. Congratulations, you two! I hope that these next years of your life are filled with as much fun and celebration as this incredible day!
